j term - january 2021

 for my j-term i took a course called laser cutting 3d printing dioramas and shadowboxes! it was a great learning experience for me because i am not the techiest person. i learned how to use the program/software adobe illustrator. illustrator was what i used to do my projects. i drew out my design first. it was a small village with raccoons, cute houses, a bear, and some trees! it lit up in the dark and changed colors. i learned how to cut wood and use a woodworking saw. we went to texas art supply and picked up some construction paper for my second project. i drew it out and it was the famous japanese print by the artist hokusai. i had 6 layers and cut them all out with my construction paper in the laser cutter. i put foam between each layer and pieced them together! finally i made my frame out of pine wood and it was complete.
